Gulf Conformity Mark (G-Mark)
In Saudi Arabia, the "Gulf Conformity Mark" (G-Mark) certification is an indication of conformity required for products to be imported into Saudi Arabia and sold in the market. This certification process is conducted by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO).
The G-Mark certificate is issued to verify that products comply with specific technical standards and requirements. These standards are typically determined by SASO and cover aspects such as product safety, health, and environmental compliance.
To obtain a G-Mark certificate, the manufacturer or importer must conduct tests and assessments to demonstrate compliance with the specified standards. Subsequently, an application is submitted through SASO or an accredited testing and assessment body, and a conformity certificate is obtained.
The G-Mark certificate facilitates the free movement of products in Saudi Arabia and is a mandatory requirement for conducting trade in the market. This certification process is often seen as a measure to enhance the quality and safety of products.
